King Charles’ London arrival sets the mood for Prince Harry’s UK return. Will the Duke meet his brother?

Ahead of the anticipated return of Prince Harry to his home country for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, King Charles has arrived in London from Windsor. Media reports suggest that the King is likely to have a meeting with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak tomorrow, potentially facilitating his reunion with his son.

According to The Mirror, the monarch was seen at Clarence House earlier today. His arrival sets the stage for the expected reunion with his estranged son, whom he briefly met in February. Harry’s previous short visit to the UK followed the news of the king’s cancer diagnosis. His arrival in the coming hours will mark his first appearance at a major event in Britain in some time.

Coincidentally, this also marks his first return since the Princess of Wales disclosed her cancer diagnosis and announced that she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy in March.

Prince Harry is expected to address the thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral, commemorating the decade-long journey of the Invictus Games launched in London in 2024. His participation in this ceremony, just two days after the celebrations of his son Prince Archie’s fifth birthday and the first anniversary of the King’s coronation, is considered the highlight of his latest UK trip. All eyes are on the anticipated meeting between the estranged royal father and son.

Will Meghan Markle accompany Prince Harry to the UK?

While there is no official confirmation of Meghan’s status during this UK trip, it’s likely that the Duke will travel alone. He is expected to join the Duchess of Sussex in Nigeria later. Reports have also not mentioned whether the royal couple’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will attend the UK event.

Prince Harry’s UK Stay, Expected Reunions, and More

According to The Mirror, Harry is expected to stay at a hotel during his visit, as he relinquished Frogmore Cottage in Windsor upon moving to California in 2020.

There is no confirmation regarding whom Harry will meet during his trip. The likelihood of him seeing his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton is slim. The Mirror reported that Prince William won’t be in the capital on Thursday or Friday. As for Middleton, her cancer treatment continues privately.

Royal experts have weighed in on the possibility of their meeting, with Royal author Tom Bower expressing certainty that Harry will not meet Kate Middleton. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams also stated that Middleton’s chemotherapy treatment presents an additional obstacle, and even then, their deep rift leaves little room for the possibility of them reconnecting during Harry’s trip.
